Teeth at last

A lot has been going on for Duncan and Tristan in the past month. They changed day care centers; they grew enough individual hairs that it now takes an inconveniently long time to count them all; they've learned to sit pretty well; their knees have been red all the time from on-going efforts to crawl; they can sort of hold their bottles. Duncan learned that Simon is ok with having his tail used as a chew toy. Tristan learned that if he sits up in his rocker during meals he can bite his toes between swallows of food. They both also seem to be developing a deranged sense of humor, so they spend a lot of time rolling around in the floor choking with laughter over each others' antics.

All this is great, and Dane and I have definitely been enjoying it. But we are most excited about the fact that Tristan FINALLY got one of his bottom teeth all the way through. That tooth has been giving us trouble for four months. FOUR MONTHS. The relief of seeing it on Saturday was incredible. Here it is:

Duncan will likely have one totally out soon, too, but since he is less . . . vocal . . . about discomfort than Tristan, the poor kid probably won't get quite as big a celebration as his brother did. Congratulations, Tristan!!

"Let us join hands and sing in the words of the old Babby spiritual, "Teeth at last! Teeth at last! Thank Flying Spaghetti Monster, we have Teeth at last!"

You know, it just doesn't have the same ring to it

Holy cow, four months??? I had no idea it could take that long. Poor kid. Poor parents.

I cannot recall if I've already said this, but I highly recommend the Sophie Giraffe teething toy. Of course, you may need two.
