With apologies to Emily Dickinson

This is my letter to the world,
That wrote quite frequently to me,
The simple news I haven't told with much alacrity.

My missives are prevented
By heaps of boxes that I see;
We are at home, just settling in,
Judge tenderly of me!

It turns out that unpacking while taking care of two babies takes a very long time. So sorry that I haven't written anyone. More to come.

Is it still an "Appalachian Diaspora" if you've wandered back into Appalachia?

Technically speaking, returning to the homeland should necessitate a change in blog name to "Appalachian Aliyah"

I knew West (BYGOD!) Virginia was "Wild and Wonderful", but I didn't know it was the Promised Land. Maybe that's something Jesus said when he baptized all the Indians, but then why are all the Mormons out in Utah?
