The twins are six weeks old today, but their due date was yesterday. In terms of their development, everything is counted from the due date. So, in some sense, everything begins now.
The thing that I'm most excited about beginning is car trips out of the city. Duncan is officially allowed to ride in his regular car seat now! To celebrate we had planned a trip to the ocean and to a redwood grove over the weekend. Unfortunately, Dane got a call from work just as we were leaving the house Sunday morning, and he ended up working all afternoon and half the night. When it became apparent that Dane was going to be tied up all day, my mom and I decided to take the babies on a shorter redwood trip in the late afternoon. We ended up getting lost and coming back to the house without ever reaching the park -- but it was a start. Dane has promised me another attempt later in the week. So, stay tuned for pictures of small babies and very large trees.
