Friday fun: nerdwatching

Various members of my D&D group have been flaunting our geek credentials this week by exchanging links to increasingly nerdy videos; playing Arcana Evolved isn't enough, apparently. I thought I'd share them here, as well; the Carl Sagan video alone has more than a million hits on YouTube, so we can't be the only ones digging this stuff.

No love for The Guild? I'm not even a gamer, but I picked up seasons 1&2 on dvd and have been following it since.

I never saw the appeal of The Guild, and I've never been into MMORPGs anyway; I find tabletop gaming much more satisfying.

Also, James, how can you say "I'm not even a gamer" with a straight face, considering how much D&D and Shadowrun you played in college? :-)

OK, allow me to rephrase: I'm not even a VIDEO gamer. Even FPS games don't interest me much unless it's for mindless Cheat-codes-on-and-blow-everything-up-with-the-rocket-launcher stress relief.

I just don't have the time to devote to online games. Computer RPGs can be fun, but lack the BS factor.

Unfortunately, Stephanie's Ex is/was an obsessive power gamer (to the point where she came second to gaming), which has understandably put her off to all tabletop RPGs.
